raindrops fall gently on windows;
beyond lies a deep blue glow, like sapphire
and the singing reminders of yesterday
shaded into each other, coloured the world with red and orange
red and orange
tree roots intertwine, a brown and purple
connection of veins infinitely binding;
a light green rustle and then the fall
dumps leaf after leaf, heaps of red and orange
red and orange
sieving through the pile, a glimpse of that deep blue
turning aquamarine before fading away;
a sweet smell of gloom rises to the sky,
sweeping all these leaves into the wind
and imprints of foliage remain on the pavement
red and orange, red and orange
